The date is June 4, 2005. Time 11:00 AM to 6:00 PM.
The Location is Old Mill Village in New Milford PA. Old Mill is a PA State
Historical & Museum owned site that is run by a nice bunch of folks who are
working hard to make it into a viable resource.New Milford is located off of Exit 23 (or close to that) of I-81 in NE PA.
Its about 35 miles north of the Scranton PA area and about 40 miles
south of Binghamton NY. Folks coming from the east would probably
be best to get to I-84 and pickup I-81 around Scranton .
Philly area and points south, get to the NE extension of the PA
Turnpike (I-476) and run that all the way till it ends at Clark Summit PA
and get I-81 from there. There is an admission fee (normally it's $6.00 an adult and $3.00
per child), however, I am getting a special rate of $5.00 per adult or $
12.00 a family. When we get a bit closer there will be an admission
pass you can print out from this site to get the special rate. This is
money going to the site. For those of you who might want to spend the night in the area, I
would suggest finding accomodations either down around
Scranton or Binghamton. There are 2 places in New Miford,
neither of which I would recommend, and one a exit or 2 north
of New Milford, that is decent but expensive. If camping is
in your blood, Lackawanna State Park is the closest going
south, about 25 miles or so.
