We have permission to use the woodworking shop, primarily the workbench area
(there is a treadle lathe there although the belt needed some attention the last
time I was in there). We also have permission to use the blacksmith's shop. I'll
be supplying the soft coal and some basic tools (they have a forge and an anvil or 2).
There is a nice sized picnic pavilion that we can use. Lots of ground space as
well so if someone wants to drag a volley ball net along, there is room for that. Also on site is a small museum of the area, a yarn wood & spinning shop that will
have demonstrators there and a gun makers shop. The gunsmith will be there
(and he's a Galoot type too!)We won't have exclusive use of the whole place, but normally there isn't too
much going on.Tailgate selling & trading will be allowed. What I am sort of planning on
at this stage of the game is that the tailgating will be the first part of the
day, say 11:00 to 2:00, that will give those folks a chance to get around.Supper will be around 4:00, sorta potluck, dogs & burgers. Due to the fact that
this is a State site, there are no "adult" beverages allowed.I am putting out a call for a couple or so volunteers to help with the woodworking
shop and blacksmith shop (would be nice if ya have a little experience there!)
